International Plant Proteomics Organization (INPPO)

Proteomics like any other technique is a global affair. Proteomers, however lack a suitable globally recognized platform along with user-friendly and centralized database, and lack of media coverage and dissemination of information in plant proteomics field. To address this situation, Drs. Randeep and Dominique talked together on October 22nd, 2008 at the occasion of a French-Japan Workshop on Plant Molecular Biology held in Tsukuba, Japan. This chance meeting and the sharing of views on this idea/topic led to the construction of a preliminary draft with Dr. Ganesh Kumar Agrawal via numerous online discussions through the end of October 2008 and mid-2009. Following our agreement, we named this initiative, 'International Plant Proteomics Organization' (abbreviated INPPO).
